The Spiffy Cookie’s Virtual Bakesale!

11 Apr

I was approached on twitter by Erin over at The Spiffy Cookie to help her put on a virtual bake sale to benefit the House of Mews in Memphis, TN. This organization is non-profit 501(c)3 status and is dedicated to the rescue and care of homeless cats and kittens.  In addition, they work to spay and neuter stray cats and educate the public on humane treatment of cats to prevent abuses.

This year, The House of Mews is hosting a food drive to help feed hungry kitties at their facilities. For just $20, four cats can be fed meals for an entire month!! Of course, I have a little mew myself and couldn’t resist helping out some others.

lolli, cat, cute

How it works:

1. Head over to The Spiffy Cookie and check out what bloggers have “donated” to the bake sale
2. Bid on baked goods by emailing bids to spiffycookie@gmail.com (min. bid $15 with $1 increases)
3. If you win, mail a check directly to The House of Mews and show proof to The Spiffy Cookie
4. Donors will mail your baked good out to you by April 21st (ish)

BAKE SALE WILL RUN FROM APRIL 11 @ 6AM – APRIL 12 @11PM
HERE is the link to the bake sale

I have donated  puppy treats to this pet-centric cause!

Side Note: I think this bake sale is an incredible idea to raise funds. I’ve been looking for a way for Becca Bakes to be able to give back more to my community or a cause that I feel strongly about. So thank you, Erin, for giving me a wonderful idea to possibly do a virtual bake sale of my own in the future!
